• Role and Responsibility: –
- Receive samples from the site and check labels, conditions, and logging information.
- Store samples properly to preserve their condition (especially for undisturbed samples).
- Trim, weigh, dry, or mold samples as required by specific tests.
- Perform standardized geotechnical tests, such as engineering properties of soil, Shear strength parameters, permeability, compaction testing, & rock strength testing.
- Carefully record test results, units, and observations. Enter data into spreadsheets
- Submit results to engineers for interpretation.
- Follow test standards (BS, IS, etc.) and internal lab protocols. Calibrate equipment regularly and report malfunctions.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces.
- Handle chemicals, hot ovens, and heavy equipment safely.
- Knowledge of lab equipment and standard geotechnical test methods.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and record precise data. Familiarity with lab software and data entry tools.
- Work experience: – 0 to 1 year’s
- Qualification: Diploma or Degree in civil engineering, geology, soil mechanics or related field.
